Porch Decor for Fall

Porch Decor for Fall

Today’s post is all about my porch decor for fall.

I love decorating my porch for fall! I have always enjoyed decorating for the seasons, and this is one of my favorite times to do it. I have found adding some fall colors with mums, marigolds, and pumpkins embraces the oncoming season. I also like to bring out the reds and oranges of the leaves with a few large leaf arrangements.

Seasonal decorating is a fun way to add some spice to your home. It’s also a great way to get into the holiday spirit.

I am a sucker for all things pumpkins, so when I saw these adorable pumpkins at Marshalls, I had to grab them. I think they complement my bed swing well.

Pumpkins

Pumpkins are one of the most affordable decorations you can use in your outdoor space. They come in all shapes and sizes, so finding one that fits your decor will be easy. If you want something more unique than the typical round pumpkin, try an oblong shape or even a mini gourd!

Mums

Mums are another great way to add color to your porch bed swing for fall! You can plant them in pots on your porch railing or place them in decorative baskets next to your swing.

fall decor for porch

I have a porch swing that my husband and son made for me a few years ago (check out the DIY). It’s very special to me. I try not to cover it up with too many items, but I like adding some fall touches, such as these pumpkins and throw. I also have a few pumpkins on the front porch, and some fall decorations. I love to decorate for the holidays, so I like to add some touches that will last all season long.

What do you think? Do you love the idea as I do? Are you looking forward to fall and all of the activities it has to offer? I think my favorite part of fall is decorating my porch. I love creating unique ways to decorate it so that it’s not the same old porch from year to year. What are some of your favorite aspects of fall, and what are you planning on doing during this wonderful time of year? Be Well-Omniley

This slow cooker beef stew recipe is the perfect dish to make when you’re craving a hearty, warm meal. It comes together quickly in the morning and cooks all day while you’re away, so it’s ready for dinner when you get home.

This spicy beef & potato stew recipe is a great meal for those cold winter nights when you need something to warm your belly and make you feel like everything will be alright. It’s easy to make and can be made in a crock pot or instant pot. The best part about this recipe is that it’s packed full of good stuff for your body (protein, vitamins), but also tastes amazing!

beef stew recipe

I took this classy beef stew recipe to the next level by adding a little wine for flavor and my favorite “Hot Chili Peppers.” Honestly, as I get older, I love spicy stuff more and more. Can’t you just picture yourself with a bowl of this stew this weekend on the sofa watching Lifetime or Little House on the Prairie?

Be sure to leave me a comment below if you try the recipe. As always, thank you for your support. Be Well-Omniley

A Beautiful Table Setting For Your Autumn Dinner

A Beautiful Table Setting For Your Autumn Dinner

Sharing my first fall tablescape of the year. for our first autumn dinner.  I will change it to my traditional pottery collection salad plates closer to Thanksgiving. I also added some seasonal fruit to our tablescape this year, including Barlett pears and black grapes. I will never avoid blue and white, but I love natural tones more and more. So I decided to add wood pumpkins for a great contrast.

The Best Lobster Tail Recipe Ever

The Best Lobster Tail Recipe Ever

This is the only lobster tail recipe you will ever need, and it is super easy. The meat is super tender and juicy. Dunk it in the special lemon butter sauce, and you’re in heaven. We love using live Main Lobster tails that we get from our local fish market anytime we cook lobster.

LOBSTER TAIL TOPPED WITH LEMON GARLIC BUTTER SAUCE

lobster tail recipe

FUN FACT ABOUT ME: I don’t eat seafood, and no, I’m not allergic. Nonetheless, I can cook it up.

When I think of lobsters, I typically use them only to reserve them for special occasions, but now that I have this recipe down the pack, we cook them all the time. It takes less than 30 minutes to prepare this feast at home and less than eating it at a fine restaurant.

DIFFERENT WAYS TO COOK LOBSTER TAILS

  • Boiled: For the easiest and simplest way to cook lobster, boiling is the way to go. Boil water in a large pot, and the lobster tails soak in and boil for minutes. Sometimes the lobster is not quite as tasty, though, and doesn’t have that rich buttery herb flavor attached to it compared to other ways of cooking.
  • Grilled: If you love to grill, this is for you! Simply add the lobster tails to your grill and let the heat cook the tails evenly and quickly.
  • Broiled: This is my go-to way. It is quick, easy, and simple broiled on high heat and up close to the top of the over. This makes a tender lobster tail every time.
  • Baked: Very similar to broiling except under average heat and extra cooking time.

PREPARING THE BEST LOBSTER TAILS EVER

I used a combination of boiling and broiling for our tails.

For this recipe, I used lemons from Europe, and they made a great citrus addition to the flavor profile. I love how fragrant these lemons are, you guys. The scent permeated the whole house when I received them and opened the container.

This recipe is inspired by my BBQ Salmon, and my son and husband absolutely love it.

Easy Pumpkin Bread-Belle Omniley

Easy Pumpkin Bread-Belle Omniley

Fall will soon be here and the first thing on my mind is all the great fall foods. Some foods just taste extra special during the fall and winter time. Maybe it’s the weather or the holiday season; I’m not sure. Today I’m sharing one of my faves!

PUMPKIN BREAD RECIPE

The perfect fall treat, I honestly can eat pumpkin bread every morning. Paired with a delicious cup of coffee and tea, I’m in heaven. I finally tried Starbucks’ Pumpkin Bread for the first time last year and tried to replicate the recipe and it was a HUGE success.

How to Make Pumpkin Bread

Begin by sifting together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and pumpkin pie spice together in one bowl.

In another bowl mix together, pumpkin puree, white sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and oil. Be sure to mix well.

It would be best if you used pumpkin puree; NOT pumpkin pie filling.

Pumpkin Puree vs Pumpkin Pie Mix

One of the main differences in puree is that it is only pumpkin as opposed to pumpkin pie mix it has been sweetened and flavored.

Fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients gently. Add mixture to greased 9×5 loaf pan.

Top with pumpkin seeds if you want to be like Starbucks. Pop in the oven and cook for 70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let cool completely before slicing.

This is a wonderful recipe to enjoy for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Lunches You Can Meal Prep Any Day

Lunches You Can Meal Prep Any Day

Have you ever meal prepped? Now, this everything is back to normal and I’m traveling I started back my meal prep. This works perfectly for my same-day turnaround trips. This is not only convenient, but it helps me easily make sensible eating choices when I’m on the go.

So today I’m sharing a few of my go-to, almost no-cook recipes for my bento box.

Meal Prep Containers

First off, I am not a huge veggie person so I try to make sure my meals are as balanced as possible. I like to have a hearty protein, some carbs unless I’m detoxing, and some form of vegetables.

Disclaimer: I tend to generally follow a low carbohydrate diet; I have found over the years that’s what works best for me.

1. Ham & Cheese Wraps.

Paired with a vegetable and fruit.

2. PB & J Sandwich

Paired with vegetables and fruit.

Chicken Thighs (Skinless) and Rice.

Paired with your favorite vegetables.

4. Chicken Quesadilla with Low Carb Tortilla.

Paired with vegetables and fruit.

5. Tuna over Lettuce or on Wrap.

Paired with vegetable and fruit of choice

I usually prepare 2-3 days at a time. It works better for me; especially since I usually have a full home office day once a week and it gives me time to prepare meals for the next few days.

I hope this gives you some inspiration to start meal prepping if you desire. Whether it’s for weight loss or sheer convenience it is definitely a time saver.

Top 5 Cleaning Products

Top 5 Cleaning Products

Hey y’all, I hope everyone is doing well. Have you ever got a product and were so pleased with the results. Nowadays, it’s unfortunate, but many products never hold up to their claims. Today I’m sharing…

My Top 5 Cleaning Products

Before we get into these products, let me first disclose that these are not clean/organic products. Also, I always recommend wearing protective gloves and testing an inconspicuous spot when using any new cleaner.

First up is Trivona Granite Sealer & Protectant.  Just when I was at the point of a mental breakdown due to the new countertop material, I found this product, and it is amazing. We use it daily on our quartzite to keep it sealed and protected. Quartzite is natural and is such a porous material it absorbs anything.

Dawn Powerwash has so many uses at my home. From dishwashing to baseboards to outside on the grills. This is a power-packed cleaner and is not as harsh as some heavy-duty cleaners tend to be. I love that they have refills available, which helps with the cost savings. We have one at each sink area and outside by the grills at all times.

Krud Kutter Cleaner and Degreaser. I have been using this product going on 6 years. This is a game changer if you have dogs that drool onto your walls and baseboards.  This is available in a few forms ranging from concentrated to outdoor usage.

Long’s Toilet Ring Remover. I have been using this since I got married, so going on 20 years. I learned about this product from my mother-in-law. When I say a miracle in a bottle. This stuff does not disappoint and does not take a lot of arm work either. The key is to make sure you lower the water below the ring you are trying to remove and make sure you use the special applicator brush. I recommend using this product in moderation. I am not sure what or how it works, but it does.  I always buy in bulk when I’m back home, and now I can order off Amazon. This is a must-try product!!!

Last but certainly not least, there is Pledge Restoring Wood Oil. I found this a few months ago, thanks to my husband. He was polishing his wainscotting and said you really should try this…of course, I didn’t at first. I later tested it out and soon ordered my own supply. I use this on all the woodwork in our home, along with our furniture. It not only gives it an amazing shine, but it helps repel dust. This is super helpful because it cuts down my dusting time.

I use these products at least once a week.

I also share below some additional go-to products I keep stocked at home.

If I could only choose one of my top 5, it would definitely be the Long’s Toilet Ring Remover. I hate cleaning toilets, and this stuff makes it a breeze. Be sure to let me know if you use any of these products or decide to try one. Be Well. Omniley
