Rose, Strawberry, and Lemon Infused Water

Rose, Strawberry, and Lemon Infused Water

Now more than ever is a great time to focus your health and well-being. I know it’s difficult at times to get in the daily water recommendation, so I decided to step my water game up and am doing so in style with infused water. I’m sharing with you my recent play on, Lemon & Strawberry Infused Water.

If you know me I have never been able to drink plain water, I’ve always had to add a little flavor to help me meet my daily intake goals. I try to drink half my body weight in ounces; for example, if you weight 120 pounds, that’s at least 60 ounces of water a day. Remember, before increasing your water intake, make sure you consult with your healthcare provider.

The rose bushes in our yard are in full bloom, and so are the strawberries in our gardens. I just love the smell of fresh roses and strawberries, So I’m making the most of them with this infused water.

Strawberries are a good source of natural antioxidants and antioxidant enzymes that provide protection against harmful free radicals and play an essential role in protecting human health. Lemons contain plant compounds called flavonoids. Many have antioxidant properties that appear to help protect your cells from damage. Please keep in mind there are no human studies to support these findings.

If you love rosewater, then you must try this! It’s so simple but so elegant and invigorating. I’m also using lemon slices in this water to get more flavor from the zest.

This Rose, Lemon, and Strawberry infused water is the perfect drink for outdoor parties, barbecues, chilling at the pool or if you are just in the mood for a refreshing and healthy drink.

Working From Home and Staying Sane

Working From Home and Staying Sane

I hope this message is finding you well. I know we all are continuing to adjust to the pandemic the world is currently experiencing. Most, if not all, non-essential workers are presently working from home or off until further notice. I’ve been a remote field worker for the past seven years, so working from home has become second nature to me. The monkey wrench is throw in a teenager and husband, and now you need to get crafty on maintaining your sanity. My office is off the kitchen wing, our sunroom, and while I have a fantastic view, it can sometimes get a bit noisy. I’m sharing with you today a few tips that have helped me maintain my sanity and remain productive on my work from home days.

-Avoid sleeping in…even if your office is in your home due to temporary circumstances! Rise and shine Kings and Queens, remember the early bird catches the worm! How you start the first hour of your day sets the tone for the rest of the day.

-Lose the PJs…you feel how you look. Brush your hair and put on a cute lipstick. If it’s nothing more than your basic classic tee and a comfy pair of jeans or lounge pants, your productivity level is bound to skyrocket when you look cute.

-Dedicated Workspace…avoid working from your bedroom or any places where you usually relax, we want each space to have a dedicated purpose. If WFH is a temporary situation, try to find a space as private as possible, try to avoid working from the bedroom at all costs.

-Physical Activity…if you feel you are getting overwhelmed, step outside that a walk. Turn on some music and dance it out. Anything to get your adrenal going.

-Keep a schedule…avoid the occasional goofing off by taking a scheduled lunch break and at least two 15- minutes breaks planned where you can do you personal internet browsing and social media checks

-Virtual Check-ins…Check-in with co-workers, family, and friends. While we are mostly under stay at home orders; we can still get creative. There is always FaceTime, Zoom, Skype, and many other virtual checks we can do to stay connected. Make sure you have at least one person you can call and vent to!

-Be productive…use this time wisely! Make memories with the family, knock out any lingering DIY/home projects, and by all means, stay safe.

I hope at least one of these tips will help you through the current unprecedented times we are experiencing. May God continue to bless you, and thank you for reading. Omniley

Pantry Organization 101

Pantry Organization 101

My pantries are some of the most used areas in my house. In other words, they are always a disaster. I had some extra time on my hand recently, so I decided to tackle the most used pantry. The main caveat is living with a teenage boy that’s always hungry and on the run and a hubby who could care less about an organization. It seems like the more space we get, the bigger the mess we make. Also, one thing about me is I hate using all the space in one area. It just feels junky to me; therefore, I end up with like items in multiple areas of the house.

Picking categories and containers

Consider your categories and type of containers to use? I recommend using see-through containers so you can immediately know what is running low at all times. It will help writing your grocery list a lot easier. Also, wickers baskets and multi-tier shelves are a must. Use whatever storage you have. Everything doesn’t have to match.

Declutter Time

Move all items from the pantry. This is key to placing items in the appropriate categories.

Purge and let go

Purge all expired items immediately. This helps with a fresh start.

Cleaning time

Cleanse shelves and floors. Nothing like the perfect time to clean when you have bare shelves.

Labeling time

Label all containers and totes, especially if you have smaller kids to keep them from exploring through all containers. It also makes it super convenient for anyone to pop in and out. I used Avery 22856.

While I still have a second more massive pantry, I’ll be tackling soon…this was a checkbox I’ve completed off of my to-do list. Happy Organizing!

Spring is in the Air

Spring is in the Air

*Clicks on site may result in a commission to site owner

Spring is in the air! How can I tell? Our azaleas are blooming, bees are swarming, and the time is about to change. I don’t get to dress casually throughout the week due to work, so I take advantage of the weekend. This week I have rounded up some of my favorite finds for weekend getaways, crawfish boils, and just about any fun event, you can get into.

Eyelet dresses will always be a spring/summer staple piece paired with the perfect sandal.

You definitely can’t go wrong with a tiered maxi look!

And of course, pom-poms are here to stay!
